On What Rock
It seems wise to provide a clear outline of our core beliefs, as many other congregations have done before us. This provides transparency about our doctrinal stance so there are no misunderstandings about who we live for, why we live, and how we live.
All 66 books; all of equal authority (2 Timothy 3:16, Deuteronomy 12:32, Revelation 22:18,19).
God is sovereign, entirely holy, unaffected by man and His creation. He exists as three persons, namely God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19) (2 Corinthians 13:14).
Yeshua is Hashem (John 20:28, John 8:58), God-with-Us, born of the virgin Mary (Matthew 1:23), lived a perfect sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21), was crucified under Pontius Pilot, rose from the dead three days later (Acts 4:10) was seen by multitudes and ascended to heaven (John 20:17), and sits at the right hand of God interceding for his ecclesia (Hebrews 7:25).
God created man male and female in His own image (Genesis 1:27). Adam (as the first man) sinned (Genesis 3:22-24, Romans 5:14), thus separating him and his offspring from Hashem and making all of humanity deserving of death (Genesis 2:15-17).
Salvation is a gift from Hashem, accepted by faith (Ephesians 2:8)- not of works (Galatians 3:11)- for those who repent from sin (Jeremiah 15:19) and place their hope only in Yeshua (Romans 10:9).
(Romans 3:21-26).
Law/Torah - complete and without lacking, describes the unchanging character of Hashem…; all of God’s instructions are good for...(2 Timothy 3:16)...and as a result, nothing has been abolished. (Numbers 15:16), (Matthew 5:17-19).
God created in 6 days and rested on the seventh. The universe and everything in it was created by Him through His word (Genesis 2:1-3). After Yeshua returns, He will create a new Heaven and a new earth (Revelation 22:1).
The people of Israel are still God's chosen people (Romans 11:1, Jeremiah 31:33-37). Believers in Messiah Yeshua are grafted into Israel. They do not replace Israel or become Jewish but are full participants in the covenants of promise (Romans 11:11-24, Ephesians 2:11-22).
Yeshua is returning to earth to reign on David’s throne in Jerusalem. All nations will be subservient to His kingship (Revelation 19-20, Acts 1:11, Zachariah 14).
